Introduction
The introduction portion is the very first impression judges have of you on stage. Contestants will walk on stage one-by-one introducing themselves. Judges are looking at your personality, energy, stage presence and confidence so make sure you bring your best and shine. Contestants are required to wear cocktail dresses in the colours of black, purple or gold or any combination of these colours.
Speech (for adult categories only)
Public speaking is a big portion of Perfectly Poised Pageants. We want you to see how well you can speak on an assigned topic that is given prior to the pageant to provide enough time to prepare in advance. You will be judged on your knowledge of the topic, your presentation skills and confidence. For those who are uncomfortable with public speaking, no need to fear as training will be provided to all contestants to prepare for this portion of the pageant.
Outfit of Choice/ Fun Fashion
This is a fun category where you model an outfit of your choice to showcase your creativity and personality. You can make your own outfits, can use props, can wear an outfit to represent your culture or ethnicity, sky’s the limit so have fun with it. Outfit colours must be in either black, purple or gold or in any combination of these colours.
Talent (Optional)
This is an optional competition category and will only be scored for the Miss/Mr Talent title and not the overall titles. Contestants can sing, dance, act, perform a poem or spoken word piece or any other talent of their choosing.
Evening Gown
This is the most elegant portion of the pageant. Judges are looking at your stage presence and poise. Judges are not looking for the most expensive evening gown but how you present yourself confidently in your chosen evening gown . Evening gowns must be floor-length and must be in the colours of black, purple or gold or any combination of these colours. Males must wear formal wear, a black suit and tie (can also incorporate the colours of gold and purple).
Question & Answer
This portion of the pageant is only for the Top 5 finalists of each age division and is the final portion of the pageant. Judges will ask each contestant one question to answer. You will be judged on how articulate you are, your intelligence, how you craft your answer, your communication skills and how well you can speak under pressure. Questions that could be asked could be about your community involvement/volunteer/charity work, societal issues, social issues, personal opinions and personal beliefs. No political questions will be asked. Training will be provided before the pageant to all contestants. A winner, and a 1st and 2nd runner-up will be chosen.
